III Women Working for the World Conference
On behalf of Juanfe Foundation’s team and 2016 speakers´delegation, I want to invite you to the III version of the Women Working for the World Conference to be held on February 25th at Club El Nogal in Bogota. This year the discussion will focus on the question: Why Women Matter?
The Women Working for the World Conference has been established as one of the region´s most important discussion platform regarding Gender and Development. This is a space to discuss multiple issues related to women´s and girls discrimination, domestic violence, reproductive rights, poverty traps (child marriage – teen pregnancy) among others.
Every year the conference chooses a specific topic regarding Gender and Development. In 2013, the debate was focused on the role of women and girls toward the development of nations. In 2014, teenage pregnancy and its effects from a social and economic perspective. In 2016, the main topic will be: Why Women Matter?
Global evidence shows that investing in the education and empowerment of women and girls is not just the right way, but the smartest way to advance as sustainable nations. Women and girls worldwide are demanding social, political and economic development leadership and progress more than ever, and need immediate attention of decision makers.
In order for us to work toward women and girls we must learn about their reality, the challenges they face and the different approaches to address their problems. We look forward to your presence.
